Trauma doesn’t only live in memories. It can live in sensation.
Some women describe trauma as:
If this is you: nothing is wrong with you. These are protective adaptations. Your body learned how to survive.
Reconnection is not about forcing the body to “get over it.” It is about rebuilding trust slowly, with consent, safety, and choice.
Trauma can shift the nervous system into:
The body may interpret certain sensations, even neutral ones, as danger. This can affect pelvic exams, intimacy, childbirth experiences, or even menstrual pain perception.
Trauma takes choice away. Healing gives it back.
Start practicing micro-choices daily:
The nervous system learns safety through agency.
Look around and name:
This tells the brain: I’m here, not back there.
Place a hand on your chest or belly. Apply gentle pressure.
Say: “I am with you.”
This simple practice can be deeply regulating.
Some trauma survivors find deep breathing activating. Keep it gentle:
Try slow, rhythmic movement:
Trauma often interrupts natural rhythm. Rhythm restores regulation.
If pelvic exams or intimacy feel hard:
In many cultures, women are taught to tolerate discomfort silently. Trauma healing requires the opposite: truth, voice, boundaries, dignity.
A truly supportive practitioner will never shame you, rush you, or dismiss your discomfort.
Consider professional support if you experience:
Trauma therapy, somatic work, and trauma-informed gynecological care can be life-changing.
Reconnection doesn’t happen by force. It happens by relationship.
Your body is not your enemy. It is the part of you that survived. And with gentle, consistent support, it can become home again.
If you’d like care that is both medically grounded and emotionally safe, you’re welcome to book a consultation.

I'm so happy to have finally found an experienced gynecology doctor. The appointment was booked on time. The secretary is friendly and polite. I can't recommend Dr. Osman highly enough; she's simply wonderful for us women and very professional!
I am so grateful to have finally found a gynecological center that makes me feel respected and relieved after each appointment. All the women who work there are kind, polite, very friendly, and above all, they LISTEN 🫶🏻 I highly recommend Dr. Osman; she is simply wonderful and very professional!
I am very happy with the care I received from Dr. Osman. She is kind, non-judgmental, and has a modern approach to medicine. For example, she asks for your consent and respects your boundaries during the examination. Also, she doesn't automatically prescribe the pill. I recommended Dr. Osman to two of my friends, and they were also very happy!
Very happy with Dr Osman, clinic is a new, modern centre, lovely receptionist/medical assistant, easy to book using oneDoc system.
Here's a gynecologist who makes me dread those dreadful and unpleasant annual appointments. Open, tolerant, and attentive, she makes going to these appointments almost a pleasure.
Superb Gynecologist, very pleasant medical secretary, impeccable and modern place, easy to make appointments with oneDoc, I highly recommend +++
